Recapitulating the 1st Phase Training

The first Phase training aimed at training the Block Development Officers and their assistants on information management and GIS technology. The statistics that needs to be focused includes health, education, nutrition etc for overall development of the area.

The Block Development Officer work directly with the various line departments, thus it is comparatively easy for him to access information on a regular basis and monitor the development indicators pertaining to health, education, nutrition and other relevant areas.

Therefore, after the 1st phase training, the data capturing was the first step to be taken. The formats, in which data was to be captured for meaningful and effective monitoring, were finalized on discussion with various officials working in these fields.

This formats were circulated to the BDOs and their officials. The data was then sent every month for porting it to GIS. While capturing the data, some discrepancies came up. This is one of the important issues to be discussed in the 2nd Phase training.
