Target stakeholders of the project: The target stakeholders of Decentralised Information Management Initiative through GIS for integrated governance in selected Blocks of Barddhaman district are:

• Block Development Officers of the four selected blocks.

• Panchayat Samiti sabhapatis and other selected functionaries of the four selected blocks.

• Gram Panchayat functionaries and job assistants of the selected  gram Panchayats.

• Community.

Expected benefits to stakeholders and outcomes: Decentralised Information Management Initiative can have a number of outcomes once it is successfully implemented. It can also benefit the target stakeholders and the community in a number of ways. The following are a list of expected outcomes from the project:

• Data generation at the GP level will transform the GP into a single information resource center from where all kinds of disaggregated information regarding development indicators can be procured instantly.

• Data generation will be done at the GP level and will be instantly transferred to the subsequent upper levels of block, Panchayat samities for further analysis and intervention.

• Information flow will be easy and fast between all stakeholders for fast and strategic intervention in difficult areas.

• Regular information regarding the public service delivery units can be generated which will then be submitted to the block and the Panchayat samities for planning and identifying gaps.

• The GPs acting as village information banks can take on the task of catering to both the policy makers and the community with relevant information.

• Based on recently generated information the BDO and Panchayat Samiti functionaries can take the initiative of coordinating the efforts and using the services of different line departments for coordinated and focused action in difficult areas.

• The block level and the district level functionaries can do regular monitoring of the development indicators at the grassroots level.
