Recapitulating the 1^st Phase Training

The first Phase training aimed at training the Karmadhakshayays and the Sabhapatis on information management and GIS technology. The statistics that needs to be focused includes health, education, nutrition etc for overall development of the area.

The Karmadhakshayays and the Sabhapatis work directly with the people. Thus it becomes necessary to make them aware of the role of  information management and GIS technology in DIMI program. This will help them to work with the various Line Departments and the BDOs so that it becomes easier to access information on a regular basis and monitor the development indicators pertaining to health, education, nutrition and other relevant areas.

Therefore, after the 1^st phase training, the data capturing was the first step to be taken. The formats, in which data was to be captured for meaningful and effective monitoring, were finalized on discussion with various officials working in these fields.

This formats were circulated to the BDOs and their officials. The data was then sent every month for porting it to GIS. While capturing the data, some discrepancies came up. This is one of the important issues to be discussed in the 2nd Phase training.

Training Goal

The aim of the 2^nd Phase training includes

• Attaching data to the GIS software (WhizMap®), so that they are capable of regular data updation.

• Preparing them for training their sub-ordinates or colleagues who will work on the system

• Map analysis and generating Thematic Maps

• Generating Reports

• Printing analyzed map and data

• Revising the data capturing format
